Stumbled upon the newest Jennifer Ashley, Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage, the second in her MacKenzie trilogy. Oh man, so excited. Cos I quite liked Isabella when she popped up in the first book and cos, man, that first book was so brilliant in terms of characterisation and plot.

I wasn't particularly moved or impressed with this one. ( ... broken, lovelorn, on your rocks ... )

Rather unsurprisingly, I am procrastinating on the writing so have decided I need to catch up on all the romance novel reviews.

*sigh* I finished Loretta Chase's latest today, Don't Tempt Me. Which admittedly I got months ago but was delaying the gratification cos I didn't want to devour it and then be depressed that I'd have a wait of years or less.

Boy, was it a total fizzler. And worrying too. For me. ( ... my favourite romance author has feet of clay, feet of clay, did you know?! Good night, mother! )

Briefly, though, I should mention the one-off authors I've been reading in between.

As impressed as I was by the darkness in The Duke, I realised I am utterly unmoved by the dense quality of Gaelen Foley's style. ( ... quibbling. )

Finished The Mad, Bad Duke a couple of hours ago cos I was home again today, but this time not by choice. No matter. Got to have a nice lazy morning and read said book. ( ... somewhat spoilery. )
